I will capture the best in you.”

About Me

So WHO am I?

I started at the age of ten using my uncle’s Kodak box camera that he used in World War 11. He taught me how to process the film and to make prints.

Spent most of my time photographing everything I can. Loved seeing how my photos took on a life of their own when they were developed.

Later on, I photographed my high school’s yearbook, did illustrations for the school’s newsletter and after school I would photographed my friends and classmates weddings.

All through High School I wanted to become a Veterinarian,
but instead I wanted to release all my creative energy and let it all flow through a camera len,
so I attended New York Institute of Photography were I completed my course in commercial photography.

“NOW ITS TIME TO GET A JOB”

In the summer of 1958 in the downtown Soho District,
I assisted Mark Shaw, who was best known for his photographs of Jacqueline and John F. Kennedy.

Later on in the uptown area, I assisted Peter Basch who was a magazine photographer. He was known for his images of celebrities, artists, dancers, actors, starlets, and glamour-girls in America and Europe. His photos appeared in many major magazines such Life, and Playboy.

Each photographer had its own style,
 uniquely all their own.

Mark Shaw had a man’s view where Peter Basch had a woman’s view. I didn’t stay very long with these two well known photographers, but the experience was great and being exposed to their talents were tremendously helpful to me.

So here I go again walking
the beat from one studio to another.

I got hired at Mack Ball Studios at the famous 480 Lexington Ave. building. The tenants in this building were primarily photographers, architects, designers and engineers who were on the cutting edge of designing lighting equipment and camera accessories. This building also had numerous Ad Agencies, Photo Equipment Companies, Publishing Companies and Modeling Agencies and was home to many famous photographers such as Milton Greene, just to name a few.

I got hired as a #3 assistant by two brothers whose names were Mac and Murray, Mac was the photographer and Murray was the salesmen. I started at $35.00 a week, and my job duties were a gofer, cleanup, pick up props, food, etc. Go to modeling agencies to set up casting calls. I would watch and learned how its was all done.

Every day I would commute to nyc (bus and subway) dressed with suit a tie, every day was a different experience from photographing spray cans, cash register machines, interiors, fashion, models… you name it.

Throughout many years I have photographed a lifetime of memories for my clients, as I photographed private events, celebrities, public events, models, animals as well as, corporate and commercial photography.

Ended in the year of 1995 “ I was Burnt out “
but the passion is still there…
Now I am looking to complete
the last item in my bucket list.

My Philosophy is to Provide Photos with Quality instead of Quantity….
